Before, if you own a condo unit, people look up to you as a high class professional in the community because, back then, condominiums are more a luxury than a necessity. Today, if you owned a unit, it’s just an ordinary thing. It’s like you just wanting to buy a unit instead of a house. Condominiums fit the lifestyle of all kinds of people like bachelors who want to be independent or families who want to build their bond in a condominium. But there are still pros and cons in living in a condominium.
Advantages
• Most condominiums are located in cities where it’s easier to access transportation, businesses, restaurants, schools and shopping malls. Since, condominiums are around the metro, you can save time and money while going to work and school.
• Condominiums are seen as a luxury home because of the expensive range of its prices but there are some units that are good for a family that fits with the country’s average monthly gross income. To find a unit for you, try finding dealers who give out fliers around the city or you may visit Fort Global Condominium.
• Feel secured while living in the community. If ever you have a vacation for a week, you are comfortable about leaving the unit because of the security around the area. Most if not all condos hire many guards and add security features around the building such as CCTV.
• No need to think of maintaining the landscape, amenities, and other things outside of the unit because the management is responsible for those things.
• When you have a unit, feel free to access all the amenities – the swimming pools, basketball, gym and even the pavilion.
Disadvantages
• Once you own a unit, you will be a part of the condominium community. You need to share a wall to your neighbor which means you will need to mind your noises and at the same time put up with theirs. Also, you lose some privacy should you get to loud.
• Monthly, you are responsible to pay some fees. Also, you need to purchase a space for your parking (depending on the kind of settlement you have with the developers).
• If you are staying in a towering condominium which have plenty floors, you need to wait for the elevator to be able to get in and out of your floor. It could also become a hazard in cases of emergencies like fire or earthquake if your unit is too far up.
• As the owner of a unit, you don’t have the freedom to organize the architectural structure house the way you want. You need to follow all the rules and regulation or you will be fined if you risk violating them. These rules may include window management, interior renovations, expansion noise level and pet ownership to name a few.
